Who AM I?
Hi, I’m Matthew, AKA Oravibe
I was born and raised on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt, also known as Victoria. I’ve worked as a summer camp instructor and started doing workshops with kids in 2019. I’ve been in touch with music my whole life! My earliest memories are of music classes :D I graduated with a combined degree in music + computer science from the University of Victoria in 2021, and as a musician and producer I play with a variety of instruments. I love all music!
“You’ll be amazed at what your mouth can do!”

“Matthew breaks down the art and history of beatboxing in an organized and energetic way that is fun and inclusive. His workshops have a lot to offer for everyone from young kids who just want to have fun and make noise, all the way up to professional musicians and anyone in between.” -Kyle Windjack

Lisa B:
Matt’s workshop gave a great range of the types of sounds, starting with the basics. Fun and casual energy, with a tight snare and dirty bass.
-
Foster:
“Matt has an enthusiasm for beatboxing which I have yet to encounter until today. His workshop was eye opening to the world of beatboxing. As a facilitator, Matt did a great job of encouraging me to feel like this is a skill I can learn.”
